Travel technology startup TravClan has secured $5 million through a funding round involving Flipkart and August One, along with debt financing from Trifecta Capital. The company will invest the funds in expanding its international supplier partnerships, upgrading its technology infrastructure and advancing its artificial intelligence capabilities. It also plans to strengthen its operations in key travel destinations worldwide.
TravClan develops technology that enables travel businesses to manage bookings and related services through a single platform. Its offerings cover multiple stages of the travel process, including itinerary creation, pricing, reservations, payment processing, customer communication and destination-level support.
The platform allows travel agents and other businesses to arrange flights, accommodation, activities and international holiday packages without having to manage separate systems for each service.
TravClan aims to provide the digital infrastructure travel businesses need to operate more efficiently, reducing the time and resources required to build their own booking and fulfilment systems.
The platform brings together travel inventory from global suppliers, pricing tools, booking functions and AI-enabled workflows. These capabilities are designed to help agents prepare complex international itineraries, manage reservations and coordinate services at destinations with greater ease.
Arun Bagaria, Co-founder and CEO of TravClan, said the company's long-term goal is to establish a platform that travel businesses can use as the foundation of their operations, rather than building their own technology systems from the ground up.
He added that the latest capital infusion would allow TravClan to increase investment in this vision and develop the infrastructure needed to support a broader range of travel businesses.
By consolidating essential services within one platform, the company hopes to reduce operational complexity and help travel partners deliver smoother experiences to their customers.
TravClan reports that more than 15,000 travel agents across India use its platform to arrange flights, hotels, activities and other destination services. The business processes over $100 million in travel sales annually, according to the company.
Its reach also extends beyond India's major metropolitan centres. Tier II and Tier III cities account for approximately 40% of TravClan's business, reflecting the importance of smaller markets in its expansion strategy.
The company sees an opportunity to support travel agents in these locations with technology that makes international travel products easier to source, price and sell.
TravClan's business model centres on developing relationships with travel suppliers and distributing their offerings through travel agents. Rather than depending mainly on expensive consumer-facing marketing to acquire customers, the company works with intermediaries who already serve travellers in their respective markets.
Sahil Kukreja, Vice President at Trifecta Capital, highlighted this approach, noting that TravClan has developed a capital-efficient business by focusing on supply and working with agents in markets that remain underserved.
Rajul Garg, Founder and Managing Partner at Leo Capital, also pointed to the advantages of TravClan's supply-focused strategy. According to him, stronger control over supply can help the company offer competitive prices while improving the consistency of travel services.
Reliable supplier relationships are particularly important when itineraries change or unexpected issues arise during a trip. Having greater control over the supply side can help travel businesses respond to such situations more effectively.
With the new funding, TravClan plans to expand its supplier network, enhance its technology and AI capabilities, and strengthen destination operations. These investments are expected to support its broader ambition of becoming a key technology partner for travel businesses managing international bookings.
