With effect from October 1, 2026, Magicbricks has named Mayank Jain as its new CEO. Jain joins the online property platform after spending more than five years at CarDekho Group, where he led its Auto Classifieds business.
The leadership change comes as digital real estate platforms look for new ways to serve property buyers, sellers, landlords, and tenants. For Magicbricks, Jain's appointment brings in a leader with experience managing online businesses and overseeing growth across multiple industries.
With more than 20 years of professional experience, Jain has worked across technology, media, automotive services, and consumer-facing businesses. His new role will involve guiding Magicbricks' business strategy, strengthening its operations, and exploring opportunities to improve the platform through technology.
Jain's most recent leadership role was at CarDekho Group, where he headed the Auto Classifieds business. His responsibilities included managing business operations and pursuing growth in the digital automotive marketplace.
Earlier in his career, he worked in the media industry as CEO of Network18's Hindi News cluster. In that position, he oversaw seven news channels, including News18 India.
His professional journey also includes roles at Disney Star, BT Group, Samsung, and HT Media. These experiences exposed him to different business models and areas of management, including marketing, sales, product development, and commercial strategy.
This varied background could prove useful at Magicbricks, where technology, customer behaviour, and business operations all influence how the platform competes in the property market.
As CEO, Jain will lead efforts to develop Magicbricks' business and improve the way its services reach customers. The company's priorities include strengthening its digital offerings, improving operational performance, and supporting sustainable business growth.
Technology is playing an increasingly important role in property searches, from helping users discover suitable listings to making it easier to explore related services. Platforms must also respond to changing customer expectations while maintaining efficient operations.
Jain's experience in managing large digital businesses is relevant to these challenges. His leadership will be important as Magicbricks works to improve its services and reinforce its position in India's online property market.
Jain's educational qualifications include an MBA from INSEAD, a postgraduate diploma in management from the Management Development Institute (MDI) in Gurgaon, and a degree in Computer Engineering.
His education combines technical knowledge with business management training, complementing the experience he has gained in leadership positions across different sectors.
Magicbricks has built a digital platform that connects users with property-related information and services. Beyond helping people find properties, the company offers options such as home loans, interior solutions, and expert advice.
Over 15 lakh active property listings and over two crore monthly visitors are reported by the portal. Its range of services is intended to support customers at different stages of their property journey, whether they are looking to purchase a home, sell a property, or explore rental opportunities.
This broad service offering gives Magicbricks an opportunity to build stronger relationships with users rather than relying solely on property discovery.
Maintaining that reach while improving the quality and usefulness of its services will remain an important part of the company's growth strategy.
Jain will work out of Magicbricks' Noida office and answer to The Times Group's Executive Director and Group CEO, N. Subramanian.
His appointment adds an experienced digital business executive to the company's leadership as it works to strengthen its operations and expand its technology-led services.
The property market is becoming increasingly digital, creating opportunities for online platforms to make property searches and related transactions more convenient. At the same time, competition requires companies to keep improving their offerings and use their resources effectively.
For Magicbricks, the focus will be on building upon its existing audience and services while pursuing its next stage of development under Jain's leadership.
