Astrotalk Reports Strong Revenue and Profit Growth in FY26
Online astrology platform Astrotalk reported a sharp improvement in its financial performance in FY26, with consolidated net profit rising 895% to ₹222 crore from around ₹22 crore in the previous financial year.
The company’s operating revenue grew 55% year-on-year to ₹1,823 crore, compared with ₹1,176 crore in FY25. Growth in paid astrology consultations, overseas markets and ecommerce contributed to the increase, according to the company’s audited consolidated financial statements.
Profit before tax also climbed significantly, nearly quadrupling to ₹296 crore from ₹75 crore a year earlier.
The results highlight Astrotalk’s efforts to expand beyond its core astrology consultation business while building a larger international presence and growing its spiritual-products store.
International Markets Emerge as a Key Growth Driver
Overseas expansion was one of the biggest contributors to Astrotalk’s growth in FY26.
Revenue from international markets increased 2.6 times to ₹621 crore, up from ₹236 crore in FY25. As a result, overseas markets accounted for 34% of the company’s operating revenue, compared with 20% in the previous year.
Domestic revenue also continued to grow, rising 28% to ₹1,202 crore from ₹940 crore.
The figures suggest that international operations are becoming an increasingly important part of Astrotalk’s business. Expanding into new markets gives the company access to a wider customer base and reduces its dependence on revenue generated within India.
However, international expansion also requires investment in marketing, customer acquisition and local market development.
Astrotalk’s marketing expenditure increased 144.2% to ₹823 crore in FY26, compared with ₹337 crore in the previous year. The company has been investing in customer acquisition as it expands its presence across international markets.
Consultations Remain Astrotalk’s Biggest Revenue Source
Despite its growing ecommerce business, paid astrology consultations continue to account for the bulk of Astrotalk’s revenue.
The platform connects users with astrologers through chat, phone calls and video consultations. Revenue from these services increased 45% to ₹1,657 crore in FY26 from ₹1,139 crore a year earlier.
Consultations contributed approximately 91% of the company’s operating revenue during the year.
The continued growth of this business provides Astrotalk with a substantial revenue base as it explores additional products and services.
Its model depends on attracting new users, encouraging repeat consultations and maintaining engagement on the platform. As competition in online astrology services grows, the company will need to sustain customer demand while managing the cost of acquiring new users.
Ecommerce Business Grows More Than Fourfold
Astrotalk is also expanding beyond consultations through its ecommerce venture, Astrotalk Store.
The store sells spiritual products such as rudraksha, gemstones, crystals and Vastu-related items through its own platforms and third-party marketplaces, including Amazon, Flipkart and Blinkit.
Revenue from the ecommerce business increased more than fourfold to ₹166 crore in FY26, compared with ₹37 crore in FY25. Its contribution to operating revenue rose to 9.1% from 3.1% in the previous financial year.
Launched in November 2024, Astrotalk Store is part of the company’s broader strategy to diversify its revenue streams.
The company initially invested ₹30 lakh in the venture and later committed an additional ₹40 crore to expand its inventory, strengthen supply chains and introduce more product categories, according to earlier comments by founder and CEO Puneet Gupta to Inc42.
Astrotalk is also exploring offline stores and a separate gemstones offering as it looks to extend its reach beyond online consultations.
The ecommerce business gives the company another way to engage customers and generate revenue. However, scaling this segment will also require effective inventory management, reliable fulfilment and careful control of operating costs.
Founder Highlights the Company’s Global Ambitions
Puneet Gupta, founder and CEO of Astrotalk, said the company’s FY26 performance reflected its ambition to build a diversified global business from India.
He noted that international markets now contribute roughly a third of the company’s revenue and that Astrotalk Store has developed into a significant additional business.
Gupta also attributed the company’s growth to its ability to create a positive impact on customers’ lives.
Founded in 2017 by Puneet Gupta and Anmol Jain, Astrotalk has built its business around connecting users with astrologers through paid consultations. The company has raised $34 million to date from investors, including Left Lane Capital and Elev8 Venture Partners.
In August 2026, Astrotalk joined India’s unicorn club following an employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) buyback that valued the company at $1 billion.
The company competes with online astrology platforms such as InstaAstro, Astroyogi and AstroSage Kundli.
Cash Reserves and Operating Cash Flow Improve
Alongside its revenue and profit growth, Astrotalk reported an improvement in cash generation and its year-end financial reserves.
Cash flow from operations rose 21% year-on-year to ₹229 crore in FY26.
The company’s cash and investments increased 41.1% to ₹917 crore from ₹650 crore in FY25. This figure includes cash, bank deposits, mutual funds and bonds.
Astrotalk said it financed its investments during FY26 through internal cash flows, allowing it to support international expansion and develop new business lines without raising fresh external capital.
A stronger financial reserve can give the company greater flexibility to invest in growth. However, cash flow and reported profit measure different aspects of financial performance, making both important when assessing the sustainability of its expansion.
What Lies Ahead for Astrotalk?
Astrotalk’s FY26 results show how the company is building on its core consultation business while developing international operations and ecommerce as additional sources of growth.
Revenue rose 55%, while net profit climbed to ₹222 crore. Overseas markets became a larger contributor to sales, and Astrotalk Store recorded substantial growth during the year.
At the same time, marketing expenditure rose much faster than revenue, highlighting the cost of expanding the customer base and entering new markets.
The company’s next challenge will be to maintain growth while ensuring that marketing investments translate into repeat customers and sustainable earnings. It will also need to demonstrate that ecommerce can continue to expand without putting undue pressure on margins.
For now, Astrotalk’s FY26 performance marks a significant year of growth. Whether it can maintain this momentum will depend on its ability to scale internationally, strengthen customer retention and manage costs as its business becomes more diversified.
